Pain Management
Pets can experience the same sensations of pain as we humans do. Some types of pain are chronic, such as the pain caused by certain degenerative medical conditions, like arthritis or hip dysplasia. Additionally, pets can experience bouts of acute or sudden pain following an injury or surgery. Regardless of the type of pain, experiencing such discomfort can greatly affect our animals’ quality of life. Animal Hospital of Ludington offers a wide range of pain management services to help your pet feel better.
Some of the common signs that your pet may be in pain include:
- Behavioral Changes
- Aggression
- Hiding
- Trembling
- Lameness or Limping
- Restlessness
- Excessive Panting
- Dilation of the Eyes
- Increased Heart Rate
- Loss of Appetite
- Self-Mutilation

They care for Daisy and George like they would their own. They also treat my husband and I with so much kindness. I would recommend them to anyone.Posted on Geoff YarosTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I really feel I'm getting an honest assessment for my dog. I don't feel like I'm being up sold on services not needed. If you're looking to do the right thing for your fur baby but not go over the top, I think this is your place.Posted on Joshua PlunkettTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. As soon as you walk in the door everyone treats you nicePosted on Claire CumminsTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Dr Reum is phenomenal. She worked with our financial constraints while also being honest about what our pet needed and what was imperative. She is professional and kind and empathetic. The techs were excellent as well. The one tech who was training was so affectionate to my cat while holding for procedures, making sure not to touch his wound, and petting him in between. Such great care across the spectrum.Posted on Tara AutreyTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Professional and caring staff. When our family adopted Bella we knew nothing of her past history, but we loved her all the same. We knew she was overweight but even our old vet didn’t make this a point we needed to address. Last year after we moved from the Grand Rapids area, Bella was visiting the neighbors for her daily treat and slipped on a wet deck and injured her back leg. We had just moved that summer and hadn’t found a home vet yet. We called two locations close to our house and they would not even see her for an emergency because we hadn’t been there yet. Ludington Animal Hospital welcomed us with open arms- their staff has been wonderful to work with and we love to see their love for Bella as well. They guided us through treatment options for a torn ACL. After surgery they were so helpful with Bella’s recovery, going above and beyond to answer questions and make sure we felt comfortable and understanding of the plan. Weight loss was a big part of her journey to take the extra stress off her joints. They helped us calculate calories, encouraged us that Bella will still love visiting the neighbors even when we limit the extra treats and food scraps, and we had great results! From right before her surgery in October to her most recent exam in April we have helped Bella loose 27 lbs. After 3 more pounds we are going to a maintenance plan and are so happy with how we’ve seen Bella react. We never knew she could run so fast, or actually jump up on the bed so easily. She really shows a rejuvenated spirit after her weight loss journey. We want to thank Dr. Deines and all the staff at Ludington Animal Hospital for their knowledge, guidance, support, and encouragement, we are so thankful they were the office that said yes!Posted on DianaTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. They are caring, through and always check up on them the next day.Posted on Mary Wenger-TownsendTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Everyone here is knowledgeable and super friendly. Believe it or not, my pet looks forward to his visits here with his tail up! Dr. Deines is always very thorough with her exams and is personable. We have been coming here for nearly six years now and most of the staff is still here -- that says something! Thank you Animal Hospital of Ludington for your care and concern.
